Reason To Breathe by Rebecca Donovan

Title: Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan
Genre: New Adult Fiction Romance
Date: February 19, 2015
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Seriously this book had me on the verge of tears... Loved it

In the affluent town of Weslyn, Connecticut, where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection while pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises - not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth - but at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she’s desperate to hide.

Reason to Breathe is an electrifying page turner from start to finish, a unique tale of life-changing love, unspeakable cruelty, and one girl’s fragile grasp of hope.
This book is centered around abuse. Just a warning.

Donovan really was able to capture the sense of abuse in her book Reason to Breathe. There was a strong willed character who was slowly being broken down at home. She was unable to help herself without hurting the ones she loved.

This book was literally heart breaking. But, heart warming at the same time. You witness her breaking out of her shell, even though she knows whats coming when she gets home. She has a fantastic school life but a horrible home life. Breaks my heart.

The romance in this book is subtle then all of a sudden BAM its in your face. The relationship they have is beautiful. He helps her through thick and thin, and doesn'tjudge her.

Definite recommendation book. Loved it!

Sexual tension at its finest....

Pixie and Levi haven't spoken in nearly a year when they find themselves working―and living―at the same inn in the middle of nowhere. Once upon a time, they were childhood friends. But that was before everything went to hell. And now things are... awkward.

All they want to do is avoid each other, and their past, for as long as possible. But now that they're forced to share a bathroom, and therefore ashower, keeping their distance from one another becomes less difficult than keeping their hands off each other. Welcome to the hallway of awkward tension and sexual frustration, folks. Get comfy. It’s going to be a long summer.
SO! This book literately had me grinding my gears in real life. I was legit like 'KISS ALREADY!' The struggle. They didn't know what they wanted, and they tried to deny that they had feelings for each other. Killed me!

So this whole situation with Levi's sister being killed and Pixie being hurt during the process. You don't really know why they are like that to each other till like a bit over mid way through the book when Levi rehashes the past. So Levi was apparently driving the truck when they were hit by a drunk driver. Killing his sister and Pixie's best friend, and nearly killing Pixie. Then Levi goes and leaves Pixie to her fucked up family.

But Pixie is not the only one alone either. Levi's family breaks up. His parents get a divorce, and move to separate sides of the country. And he is left to be at college by himself.

So the sexual tension in this book is legit. I'm being serious, this is one of those books where your just like 'WE KNOW YOU LOVE EACH OTHER SO JUST BE WITH EACH OTHER!'. There is also this whole thing with Pixie's scar, and how it brings up the past when Levi sees it.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a fun and quick read!

Hardwired by Meredith Wired

Title: Hardwired by Meredith Wild
Genre: Adult Romance
Date: January 29, 2015
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

I really enjoyed this book. It was similar to other books I've read in the past. The whole investor/rich guy, dates the girl who is working to become herself. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Just read it. It is a four book series I believe.

Determined to overcome a difficult past, Erica Hathaway learns early on to make it on her own. Days after her college graduation, she finds herself face to face with a panel of investors who will make or break her fledgling startup. The only thing she didn’t prepare for was going weak in the knees over an arrogant and gorgeous investor who seems determined to derail her presentation.

Billionaire and rumored hacker Blake Landon has already made his fortune in software, and he’s used to getting what he wants. Captivated by Erica’s drive and unassuming beauty, he’s wanted nothing more than to possess her since she stepped into his boardroom. Determined to win her over, he breaks down her defenses and fights for her trust, even if it means sacrificing a level of control he’s grown accustomed to.

But when Blake uncovers a dark secret from Erica’s past, he threatens not just her trust, but the life she’s fought so hard to create.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

So this book starts off with Erica and her graduating from college. She is trying tog et an investment on her online site, a fashion website. So when she goes in front of a panel of possible investors, she is greeted by the man who she ran into the other day when she was out to eat. The cocky man who's name is Blake basically tries to get her nervous and flustered during the meeting. It was actually kind of funny. I really enjoyed Blake's personality.

When Erica's friend and co-owner moves to New York City to live with Blake's brother, she is left alone with her other kind friend to run the online store. Not only this, but when she rents a new home it ends up being right under Blake's.

Don't get me wrong, the sex in this book was hot. There was plenty of it too. But, their relationship really kind of pissed me off at times. The fact that Erica wasn't able to stay in one place was frustrating. She just kept running away from him every time something didn't go her way. I mean if someone gave me 4 million dollars, I would be grateful. Especially if they were forcing it upon myself. But, I do see where she is coming from, she has worked hard for this site and doesn't want anyone else running it, and she doesn't want to take anyone down if it ends up crashing.

When Erica finally meant her father, I wasn't expecting her step brother to be the man who raped her in college. My mouth literally dropped open when she realized it was him. Talk about a plot twist. I seriously wasn't expecting that.

All together I enjoyed this book immensely. I will be buying and reading the next book. I recommend this to anyone who likes adult romance, and a bit of a domineering male character! Happy Reading!

The Dom's Dungeon by Cherise Sinclair

Title: The Dom's Dungeon by Cherise Sinclair
Genre: Adult Romance (BDSM)
Date: January 27th, 2015
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

I literally just finished this book. I suppose this was a good read, I haven't really had a lot of experience in the whole Dom/Sub world. Overall Good book.

Foster child. Teenage whore. Now a veterinarian, MacKensie's turned her life around, but the scars remain. She saves her affection for the animals who never judge or scorn her, but it's time to get out, move on from her past in Iowa. So, she arranges a vacation exchange to job hunt in Seattle.
Although the house is lovely, one room is locked. Her years in foster care have given her two 'gifts': a neurosis about locked doors and the ability to open them. After she gets into the room, she's appalled...and intrigued. Chains and manacles, whips and paddles, odd benches with straps...
When Alex returns home days early and finds MacKensie draped over the spanking bench in his locked dungeon, he's furious. But her wariness arouses his protective nature and curiosity, so he strikes a deal to keep her close--she'll act as his submissive in exchange for a place to stay and help finding a job.
He'd planned to use the veterinarian to deter an ex-girlfriend, not replaceher, but with MacKensie's compelling mixture of strength and vulnerability, the little sub slides right into his well-defended heart.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

This book was HOT just like a lot of the other books I read. It was unique. I havent really read a lot of Dom/Sub books, but i especially enjoyed this one.

At the beginning of the book right before they Alex and Mac both met, I could just tell there meeting would be epic, and it was. So she finds a door unlocked and she decides to unlock it and and open it. Wrong idea sista. Its a BDSM dungeon, and she is stunned. So as naked as the day she was born she starts to try out the equipment, and little does she know is that Alex is home looking for her. I just knew that she was going to get caught, and I was cringing the whole time. And when he walks in on her I expected for him to yell, but nope. he walks over holds her down and spanks her. WTF I was like holy hell batman, this is going to be a hot book.

So their relationship is definitely not platonic. There is sex, and lots of it. He basically blackmail's her into be his Sub, but it all works out in the end. Sort of. That first time at the BDSM club had me going. When she got dragged away for the 'rape' scene with a man she didn't know, I was legit scared for her. But things got straightened out in the end.

I really enjoyed this book. I would recommend this to people who are into BDSM and the whole Dom/Sub stuff. HAPPY READING!!!

A Table for Three by Lainey Reese

Title: A Table for Three by Lainey Reese
Genre: Adult Romance
Date: January 25, 2015
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Okay! This book was seriously H.O.T. Loved it. For all you MMF people out there, you'll love this. There's lots of kinky sex, and you will devour this book extremely quickly! READ IT!

Riley Ramirez knew that moving to New York would change her life. She just didn’t expect it to start on her very first night in town. Her attraction to nightclub owner Kincade Marshall is instant, mind-blowing—and mutual. When she finds he is a Dom who requires her complete surrender, even when it comes to submitting to his best friend, Trevor Wellington, she finds herself willing and eager to embrace the sexual adventure.

From their earliest days, Cade and Trevor have shared everything, including women. Yet it only takes one night with Riley to know she is their forever lady. Convincing her that this is more than a temporary fling, though, will take every tool in their sensual arsenal.

As Cade and Trevor set their sights on Riley, however, they’re unaware—until it’s almost too late—that someone is targeting their fragile relationship. Someone who’s taking deadly aim at Riley. Suddenly their struggle to keep their forever woman is a fight to keep her alive…

Warning: This book contains m/f/m ménage, bdsm play, lots of steamy p.d.a, and a fine dining experience that will leave you salivating for more.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Well, holy crap! From the very first page I was in shock. As I kept reading through the story, It got hotter and hotter. And when you thought it wouldn't get anymore hotter it. did.

I think this is one of the first books I've read that was full on MMF, you know the whole menage thing. Yea. Shit. Fucking hot. What Riley, Cade and Trevor had going on was definitely out of my imagination. Never expected this book to be like this. It was basically full on porn, sex on a stick. Well two sticks...

You could tell that the men in this relationship basically fell in love with Riley at first site. I mean I would too. She had big boobs, big butt, and long red hair. Who else wouldn't. And basically shes open for anything, even having people watch her have sex... with two men. Not sure how I would have felt about that.

Now, what would a good erotica book bee without a little suspense. So apparently someone is stealing from Cade's bar thing. You basically assume that its going to be this Anna or what ever her name was right off the bat. Shes basically in love with Cade and Trevor and gets extremely jealous when they started dating Riley. So basically she tries to kill Riley, by feeding her heroin and OD'ing her. Once that didn't work she basically came up and knocked her out and was going to sell her to some sex traffickers.... Really? But don't worry, Cade and Trevor saved the day, and she got arrested.

Even though their relationship went really fast in this book, it was still really good. They got married 6 months after they met...

I would recommend this book to people who are in to the whole menage erotica books! Happy Reading!!!

Frigid by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Title: Frigid by Jennifer L. Armentrout - J. Lynn
Genre: Adult Contemporary
Date: January 21, 2015
Rating: 4 out of 5 Stars

Unbelievably written. It left me with the warm and fuzzies, I really enjoyed this wintery read. I don't mean to be repetitive or anything, but fantastic book written by a fantastic author.

For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

So Sydney or AKA 'Syd' is a 21 year old woman who's been in love with her best friend Kyler for her whole life. Kyler is a 21 year old man-whore who sleeps around to try and forget about his love for his best friend. As you can see, this is a problem and the whole book is filled with sexual tension. Its so strong I could literally feel it coming off the pages.

Both Kyler and Sydney and their friends are supposed to go to Kyler's mothers ski house for Christmas break. You know, skiing, snowboarding, coco, the whole nine yards. But, there was a giant snow storm that basically snowed Kyler and Sydney in alone. Their friends had to turn back because it was snowing to much.

There's the whole 'I don't want to ruin our friendship' faze then there's the 'I don't even give a shit anymore, my heart hurts to much, I need to tell him' faze. So one night while there sleeping together to keep warm Syd wakes up to Kyler basically feeling her up, with his hand down her pants. And, when he wakes up it makes things hella awkward. I was just like, GET YOUR DAMN FEELINGS OUT IN THE OPEN ALREADY! I was so frustrated that they just wouldn't talk to each other.

later on in the book they finally talk to each other and Syd basically tells him she just wants to fuck him like a one night stand. She thinks that he wouldn't want to do the whole relationship thing. He was pissed, understandably. While he was felling her up, the glass broke from a bullet (I'll get to that later) and it ruined the moment, thank god.

So finally, when Sydney is just so pissed, so stressed she finally slips out that she is basically in love with him, but she didn't mean to say that to him. Guess where this leads? A make out session. To the whole moaning and shit. You know the 'hot and steamy' shit. And basically that's what they do the whole next day. It...was... hot.

Then we have the whole stalker situation. I knew immediately from the beginning who was doing it. It was that ski instructor from the lodge who tried to get into Syd's pants, but Kyler didn't let him. So basically it started off with someone trying to run Syd over with a snowmobile, to a tree falling on the power lines. Then they cut the power lines to the house, so they were freezing there asses off. Then he shot a bullet through the sun room while they were getting ready to 'fuck'. Who the fuck is that crazy..

So, Kyler goes up to the ski lodge to find out when the roads will be clear and what not, leaving Syd alone. Syd, being the impatient person she is decides to head up to the lodge an hour after Kyler left. She finds out that he went back with the girl Sasha to her place. She was heart broken. So she called her parents to come and pick her up. She headed back to the house to pack, to find the garage open more then she left it. At this point I was basically yelling at my book telling her to just go back to the lodge, she didn't. She goes into the garage and guess who's there. The ski instructor trying to slash the tires on the hummer. This is when things escalated quickly. He drags her into the house by her hair trying to 'scare' her, but he basically beats her, because Kyler apparently slept with his girlfriend Sasha a year ago and then lied about it to Syd. Not, Cool. and when Kyler finally makes it back to the house the dumb ass gets his ass beat, and Syd wont talk to him.

As I said before, this book ends with the warm and fuzzies, and if you've read the book you know what I'm talking about. Through and through I thought this book was really good, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a good wintery read.

Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Title: Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Genre: Adult Paranormal Romance
Date: January 20, 2015
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Wow! Another fantastic book written by no one else but Jennifer L. Armentrout. I wasn't expecting this when I first started this book. I cant really say much about this book without spoiling it... so, just read it.

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn’t chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn’t believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life… or is it Hunter?
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

So we have Serena, shes stubborn, cocky and dosen't like to be bossed around. Then we have Hunter who is also bossy, stubborn, cocky and he dosn't like to be bossed around. Imagine what happens when you put those two together.

At the begining of the book Serena's friend tells her that she saw her boyfriend light up like a glow worm, and they were talking about a project and about Dellalus. If I was in Serena's position I wouldn't have believed her either. But, soon Serena finds out that she wasen't lieing. Out in the parking lot Serena witnesses her friend being blown  up by a Luxen, and thats where It all starts to go down hill.

Then the book shifts to Hunters point of view. He works for the government, controls the Luxen population. And on occation protect a human or two. In this case he is hired to protect Serena from the Governer who wants her dead, and not only that to get information out of her on what her dead friend said to her. To be honest I knew by this point that something bad was deffinetly going to happen with the government, just like in the Lux series.

So, when Hunter and Serena first met it was in the same parking garage that Serena's friend got blew up in. She was picking up her car. She witnessed a man standing in the shadows, and he came up to her all domminering and shit trying to tell her what to do. She was not having it...

Anywho, Serena and Hunter end up 'living' together, by other means Serena's kept locked up in a house for days. You could tell that there was some serious sexual tension gathering in there. When its finaly let loose, I was like 'YES' but then when he went all 'sucky the soul out of her' I went 'NO nO NONO'. So he struggles with keeping feeding and sexual intercourse apart... only with her.

I find there relationship kind of hilarious. If you think about it, hes an alien and hes not supose to love, or basically have feelings. But, then Serena comes along he changes his mind, and basically gives up his life to protect her. Talk about a life switcher uper.

All of Armentrouts characters are hilarious. She knows how to keep a reader hooked on a book and/or a character. This is why shes one of my favorite authors. I would deffinetly reccomend this to a friend. Its fantastic.

Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Title: Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Date: January 18, 2015
Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars

Another fantastic book written by one of my favorite authors. Lately i've been in a pitiful reading slump, and I need a pick me up book. This was that book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much, and I loved the romance that was in it. Hell, I love the romances in all of Armentrout's books!

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.
Man, oh man. This book was amazing. Its not like I'm totally biased or anything. So the book starts out with Ivy the main character sitting at a cafe sweating her ass off. Immediately off the bat I knew that I was going to love this book. All of Armentrouts characters are spunky and have their own personality, that's one of the main reasons I love her books. Then her friend Val joins her brining her ice coffee as a bribe to work for her that upcoming Saturday.

As you can tell by the summary, these girls aren't just normal girls with normal jobs. They both work for a group called the Order. They kill or send the fey back to their own land. They are basically the Buffy's of this book. 'you know, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. They literally kick ass.

So, back to the begining of this book. After Val leaves Ivy goes off on her own to search for a fey to kill. When she comes upon one and she follows it into the ally, they have the whole 'your dead' conversation, and they she kills him. Little did she know that when she turned around a man would be there. Not a normal man, but a fey, that didn't look like a normal fey. This fey unlike the normal silvery skin had olive skin and looked like a normal person. Except for his eyes. His eyes were just like any other feys. He conjured a gun, and got the upper hand on Ivy and then shot her as she was running away. What a coward. Who shoots a person in the back?

So you know. Blood, bleeding, she can't help it right. She keeps running and no one picks up the phone when she calls them. Little did I know she could have just bled out there on the street. But she kept going. All I know is that if I got shot, my ass would be on the ground groaning in pain. But, she kept going. When she finally made it to the base or what ever you want to call it, and she cant make it up the stairs. So she just lays there.... bleeding out..... on the steps.
But, no worries as soon as she is about to die. People decide to come out and help her....

So lets talk about Ren. He is a masculine, hunk of hotness. And a totally persistant mother fucker. Immediately you find out that Ren is cocky and isn't afraid to show it. He has emerald green eyes and dark hair. Lovely, compared to Ivy's bright red hair. Perfect match.

You can tell that Ren gets under Ivy's skin from the beginning, from calling her Merida 'yes from Brave', to sneaking into her house and sitting beside her while she's sleeping. Creepy I know. But, due to his persistent's she ends up falling for her. I cant tell you enough how much I love Armentrout's relationships in her books. They are so cute.

Don't get me started on Tink. As soon as this character was introduced I fell in love with him. Not the whole 'I love you so much, love me' kind. But, the whole 'your such a great character, let me love you' kind. He has an attitude, and he doesn't give a flying fuck about what other people think of him, even if hes a foot tall and wearing dress up clothes for barbies.

Then there is the whole fey aspect. There could have been more details about the fey world, and possibly all the types of fey. We are only introduced to the fey that are in the earth plane, and the brownies. Is there other types? But, the whole Halfling thing, you could tell that Ivy was one of them as soon as it was mentioned in the book by Ren. But, Armentrout did a good job trying to sidetrack us from it by saying that the fey who shot her would have known, because of her blood. Tricky tricky.

Nothing-less, I loved this book. The romance was perfect, and the fey aspect was interesting. Although, Armentrout could have gone a bit more in depth with the whole fey aspect, she did a fantastic job. I do hope that Armentrout adds in more information about the fey in her next book. I seriously would recommend this to a friend. Its Awesome! Happy Reading!

P.S: Sorry I posted this so early in the morning! I finished the book last night and wanted to review it while it was fresh in my mind. Also, I wanted to review it before I went to work and started a new book!

Too hot to handle by Katie Rose

Too Hot to Handle by Katie Rose
ARC recieved by NetGalley
Read on: January 7th, 2015
DNF 33%

I didn't finish this book. Normally I'm into the whole 'I'm a player turned lover' story. But, this book just didn't do it for me.

Nikki Case is no fan of baseball. Her ex gambled away a fortune on the sport, and now her PR firm has tasked her with cleaning up the league’s most notorious bad boys. The New Jersey Sonics are known for wild womanizing and booze-fueled brawls, so Nikki expects the worst. Her first stop in the battle to win hearts and minds is star hitter Jake Baldwin—a legendary ladies man so smokin’ he threatens to melt her tough-girl armor.

Although his teammates prank her without mercy, Jake admires the way Nikki gives as good as she gets. She may be the queen of frost, but there’s kindling beneath those sultry curves—and he’s just the man to ignite it. But when a PR nightmare lands the Sonics in headlines across the country, Nikki is ready to walk. Only then does Jake realize how important she is to the Sonics’ success—and that winning the love of a good woman is no game.
There isn't much I can say about this book. I just didn't like it. And to be honest, I don't really like reading her style of writing, was it first person? Was it third person? I have no idea, It was back and forth.

Also, the way she set up the characters. I didn't like Jake at all, he was way to cocky. Even though he did have a soft spot, he liked talking to his fans, and loved his teammates and team. I just didn't enjoy reading about him.  Also, I didn't like Nikki either. Too uptight, at the beginning. I just didn't like her either. Just all around this book didn't amaze me like I thought it would.

I wouldn't recommend this to a friend. But, feel free to read this book. Just because I didn't like it, Does not mean you wont.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Well this was one of those books where It's hard for me to get into. Up until this book I had yet to read any books written by Dawn Ryder. Even though this book seamed like two diffrent books, the first part of the book in Alaska, and the second part when she headed back to LA. I wouldn't have continued If I hadn't reached that second part.

SHE'S FIGHTING FOR CONTROL...

Celeste Connor swore that she'd never be a victim again. After the hell of her abusive ex, the last thing she needs is to be under another man's thumb. But when she catches the eye of fiercely dominant Nartan Lupan at her best friend's wedding, Celeste finds herself drawn into a glittering world of wealth and power that has her body aching and her mind reeling.

HE'S FIGHTING TO MAKE HER HIS...

Nartan is a filthy rich businessman who works hard, plays harder, and doesn't take no for an answer-and he wants Celeste with a hunger he's never before felt. He'll do whatever it takes to have her. But Nartan didn't expect that he'd want still more...
You can tell that Celeste had her gaurd up due to her ex, that abbusive fucker (Pardon my french). I mean I do understand that it was just something she formed to protect herself from people so they couldn't hurt her like her ex did. She was closed off emotionally and didn't really like talking to  people.

While at her best friends wedding in Alaska she meets a man named Taran. It was basically insta-love. I hate insta-love. When she tries to push him away, he doesn't stay away. When she wants alone time, he follows her. I mean whats up with him following her through the woods at the beginning of the book. I was thoroughly frustrated with this book.

I normally don't do those insta-love books. The whole 'as soon as we met each other's eyes I was planning my wedding' sort of deal is not my cup of tea. Even though I didn't like this particular book, don't stop that from dictating whether or not you read it.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!

Man was this book HOT! There is a definite chance that I will read the next book. This was a great read. It kept me entertained the whole time. Lets not forget about how hot this cover is too. I honestly think that the cover is what made me buy the book In the first place.

Katy Marks has worked hard for years to make partner at her law firm and be accepted in a man’s world. She hasn’t had much time for play. Now she has a stalker, one of the firm’s partners who hopes to entice her to gain promotion by sleeping with him. Backed into a corner, she grabs an unexpected opportunity. She wards off his unwanted advances by plastering herself against the sexy man leaning casually against the wall outside her uncle’s gym.

Rafe Wesson is stunned by one look at the sexy woman so totally out of place in the gym and finds himself flattened by his best friend and sparring partner. Scrambling to ensure he gets a chance to speak with her, he instead finds himself KO’d by a kiss that rocks his world and hardens him in all the right places.

Katy isn’t Rafe’s type. She’s far too innocent. Besides, she’s the gym owner’s niece. But two dates don’t dampen his desire or release her from his thoughts. Rafe has personal rules against sleeping with a woman before they are fully informed about his dominant ways. But Katy is testing his patience. She wants him, but he fears she won’t be as persistent when she finds out about his preferred lifestyle.

Rafe tries to step away from her, but he can’t ignore the unknown threat that stalks her, and time is running out. Someone wants Katy dead. And Rafe wants Katy...very much alive.
Lets start out talking about Rafe. When we first meet him he's the MMA fighter, you don't really find out that he Is a Dom till later In the book. He claims that he's some beast, that he can only control his domineering side for so long. But, as you can tell when you read the book he does a very good job at controlling it. He doesn't really lose control, I'm proud that he was able to withstand Katy's persistent attitude to get into his pants so long.

When Rafe and Katy first met It was due to some sociopath that was following Katy and she took charge and basically made out with Rafe right in front of her uncles gym. You could tell that Rafe really cared for Katy by the way he would talk about her, how he consistently thought about what she thought about his lifestyle. He didn't want to tell her because he thought she was the one. But, little did he know was that she would completely and utterly blow his mind when she basically accepts his lifestyle for what It Is and joins him. I also loved how sweet Rafe was with Katy, he was very protective.

I loved how forward they were with each other. There was a lot of communication, the fact that these people actually talked to each other, and told each other what they did and didn't want was amazing.

Some of you might be thinking 'Oh, this Is a Dom/Sub story, I don't want to read about that.' It really Isn't all about BDSM. It's not the overpowering at all unlike In most BDSM novels. In most BDSM novels the Dom Is extremely controlling, and I felt like Rafe wasn't that controlling at all. There Is no flogging or whipping or anything of that genre, accept for what happens at the club and It's done to other women.

Although this book took me a bit of time to get invested into It, It was well worth it. I would diffidently recommend this book to a friend. The only reason this book didn't get a five star rating is because I thought it was a bit to short. If it happened to be longer and delved into Rafe and Katy's relationship more I would have happily stamped this with a five star rating. Thanks For Reading!

Forbidden Surrender ARC Book Review

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Hey Everyone! Today I am reviewing Forbidden Surrender by Priscilla West. Lets just say this book was a very short and very quick read for me. I read this in less than 24 hours.
“What gives you a thrill Kristen?”
The minute I saw Vincent Sorenson, I knew he was trouble. Billionaire. Bad boy. And dangerously sexy. He was everything I craved, and nothing I needed.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t just avoid him. The higher ups at my company decided they needed his business, and I was on the team to bring him in. Vincent Sorenson didn’t seem as interested in business as he was in me, but I knew that was a door better left unopened. If I got involved with him, it would only unearth the pain I spent years trying to bury.
I thought I had it under control, but I seriously underestimated Vincent’s seductive charm and silver-tongue. I would soon find out how delicious it would feel to let myself fall into this forbidden surrender.
The book starts off with a woman named Kristen. She has worked at her job for what is about three years. This book is kind of hard and unbelievable at first. What person after three years of working gets to go out to meetings with big CEO's at companies. I mean she did graduate from Harvard, but seriously? Anyway, turns out that a few higher ups had left the company to create their own management firm. That's why she ended up getting a higher position.
Now, lets talk about Vincent Sorenson. He is an all around very persistent character. His blonde hair and the body of a beach god. Sure he was hot to read about, but really pushy. He diffidently knew what to say at all the right times. He likes the walk on the wild side, and you can tell that he does because he is a CEO and owner of many brands a of different extreme sports equipment.
Overall this book was fairly good. I would recommend to people who enjoy a quick fast paced read about a woman who needs to loosen up a little bit and live, and a man who is dominate, extreme, and very blunt.
